The New York Yankees sign Clay Rapada
The Yankees have signed 30-year old lefty reliever Clay Rapada to a minor league deal. Rapada pitched in 32 games (0 starts) for the Orioles last year and he was 2-0 with a 6.06 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. He has now pitched in 78 games (0 starts) in his first five years in the majors and he is 5-0 with a 5.13 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP. Rapada will get a chance to make the Yankees’ pitching staff this spring as a second lefty to Boone Logan.
