The New York Yankees let three pitchers go
The Yankees decided that they didn’t have room on their 40-man roster for Darrell Rasner, Matt DeSalvo or T.J. Beam so they didn’t tender any on them a contract making them all free-agents. Beam has already signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Darrell Rasner pitched in 6 games last season for the Yankees and he was 1-3 with a 4.01 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. Rasner has pitched in 17 games in his major league career and he is 4-5 with a 4.13 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. DeSalvo was a rookie last season and he had a hard time. He pitched in 7 games for the Yanks and he was 1-3 with a 6.18 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP. T.J. Beam also had a rough time as a rookie last season. He pitched in 20 games last season for the Yanks and he was 2-0 with a 8.50 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP. The only one of these pitchers the Yanks could possibly miss is Rasner who has been a decent pitcher in the majors.
